View from the porch!

People, if you only get one alpine holiday in a lifetime, you HAVE to stay at a le chardon lodge in Val D'isere.

These places are beautiful.

Lafitenia is lovely and cozy with a gorgeous dining/lounge area and a great hot tub location where you can enjoy watching people try to pick their way down epaule charvet (sp?) and come steaming out of santons, while you sip bubbly in a 40 degree bubble fest.

Bergerie is stunning - the pic is the view out of the window of the porch which connects the landing upstairs with the area down here. I'll post pics of down here as well, it's a stunning area. Another hot tub, and you can see charvet again!!

It's warm here-the snow conditions are excellent, apparently, they've had 2 48 hour snowfalls in the last couple of weeks, so it's topped up. Looks like we'll be out there in T-shirts, which is a big change from last time, we were here in Jan and every shady lift in Tignes was freezing you solid within 60 seconds...

This is going to be a great week. Bless him, Morgan got me back from the car park (le chardon will literally take you anywhere you need to go, pretty much anytime up to 2am!!!) and now he's taken both mine and Nic's gear down to get them edged and waxed.

Morgan's a star, chatty, friendly and full of wicked humour and top tips for offpiste boarding.

Oh-and the wireless broadband is fast and plentiful. My P990 is happy :)
